Nulb
From ToEE
From what you've heard from the villagers at Hommlet, Nulb isn't a very nice place. It appeared to spring up after the establishment of the Temple of Elemental Evil over a decade ago. It's filled with brigands, theives, muderers, pirates, and the other filth of society. While not officially connected with the temple in any way, it's certainly not regarded as a prime holiday destination.
The good villagers in Hommlet would like to pretend that Nulb does not exist.
Nulb can be reached from Hommlet via the low road, which passes between the Kron hills and the Gnarley forest, or by the high road, which goes straight through the Gnarley, and has not been used in many years. The river flowing through Hommlet also heads to Nulb, although it's so shallow that only light and thin vessels can pass travel that way.
Imeryds run flows out of the Gnarley forest and flows northwards towards the lake of unknown depths. Much of the area around Nulb is swampy, and it is the only fording point for Imeryds run for many miles.
The Temple of Elemental Evil is not far from Nulb, being only a few hours journey.
Notable establishments in Nulb include the Waterside Hostel, the Boatmen's tavern and market, and the Temple of Gardan.
